Questions about the booking

I am entitled for free or reduced entry (Kulturpass, etc.). How do I specify this when making my booking?

During a booking via our booking system, all of the reduction cards we accept can be selected and applied to the shopping cart. Please note: If a reduction card is specified when booking, it must also be presented at the checkout along with the ticket. If the card provided is not available, the full entrance fee must be paid.

Can I cancel or change a booking?

Changing or canceling a booking is possible up to 48 hours before the start of the booked event by calling the following telephone number: +352 958370-855 or reservation@plomm.lu.

What happens to my personal data after I book online?

The personal data collected will be kept for as long as necessary to process the booking and will only be recorded to the extent necessary for this processing. Access to this data is exclusively reserved for those PLOMM team members who are directly or indirectly involved in the processing of the above-mentioned data. Under no circumstances will your data be passed on to third parties.

I have comments about my booking. Where can I specify this?

If you have any special comments about your group, such as allergies, illnesses or disabilities, please send
us a comment while booking or an email (hello@plomm.lu).

Questions about my visit

What if I'm late or forget an appointment?

Not everything always goes according to plan. If you notice during your arrival that you will probably be late, please contact our reception staff immediately at +352 958370-855. Our guided discovery trips start on time and their duration cannot be shortened. For this reason, we cannot always guarantee that we will be able to reschedule a booking – but we will do our best as soon as we become aware of a delay. Please understand that we cannot refund ticket prices if you do not show up for the booked event.

Are there lockers on site?

No, we currently have no option for individuals to lock up valuables. You can leave jackets, bags and shoes in our cloakroom area – but you should take valuables with you. For school classes and groups from care and educational institutions, we have lockable cupboards so that valuables can be stored and protected.

Is there a museum café or restaurant on site?

Our museum café is currently still under construction and food and drinks cannot be sold. However, there are tables and chairs available in the café area so that you can consume food and drinks that you have brought with you.

Questions about the accessibility

I am in a wheelchair/I have walking difficulties. Can I drive up to the museum?

For people with walking difficulties or people in wheelchairs, there is a parking lot on our campus that can be accessed via Rue de Winseler (address: 19, Rue Charles Lambert).
If you plan to arrive by train, please write us an email to hello@plomm.lu. We will then inform our front desk. On the day of your visit, you can call our reception staff when you arrive at the train station so that someone will come to meet you and help you with the stair lift.
You can reach reception on the following phone number: +352 958370-855
The entrance to the museum itself is barrier-free.

Are the exhibitions barrier-free?

Unfortunately, the Tree of Tales and the temporary exhibition LOVE are not (completely) barrier-free. We are currently working on creating an offer that would allow all children to have a good experience of the exhibitions.

Are there options for groups with special needs?

We are currently working on options for groups with special needs. To stay up to date on such and other offers, we recommend subscribing to our newsletter and following us on our social media channels.
Do you have any ideas or requests? Then send us an email to: hello@plomm.lu

Can I visit the museum with a service dog?

Yes. Assistance dogs are allowed.

Questions about the offer

Are low language skills an obstacle during the guided discovery tours?

No, that is not an obstacle. Our employees try to use simple language and supportive gestures as much as possible during the guided tours of discovery. In addition, we work without written language in our exhibition. During the visit, the children have plenty of time to explore and play at the exhibition stations independently – without any language barriers.

Can day parents also benefit from the offer for groups?

Parental assistants, day parents, and mini day-care centers can use the free offer for Crèches and Maisons relais.

If you are not sure which group you belong to, please contact us: hello@plomm.lu

We are an educational institution and would like to visit the Children's Museum PLOMM with a group. What do we need to bear in mind?

The Children’s Museum PLOMM is specially designed for children of different age groups and offers very different activities! However, we do not recommend that groups from educational institutions visit the expositions with children of different ages or groups of children under the age of 3. To maximise the experience, we also recommend that educational institutions do not take groups of more than 10 children.

Our child is still very young. I wonder if the guided discovery tour through the exhibition, which lasts 90 minutes, isn't too exhausting.

That should not be a problem. The guided journeys of discovery in the PLOMM differ greatly from other museum tours. The children are guided through the exhibition with an exciting story and accompanied by educationally trained staff. In addition, they have plenty of time to play (together) and do things that interest them during their visit. There are also opportunities to retreat in the two PLOMM exhibitions. Therefore, the visit duration of 90 minutes should not be too exhausting.

For creative workshops, are there painting smocks on site or do I have to pack special clothing for my child?

Paint coats in various sizes are available for creative activities at PLOMM. However, items of clothing may not be spared from paint, so the children should still wear clothes that can get dirty.

Questions about the Kompetenzlabo

The Kompetenzlabo offers a diverse and free range of further training courses, specialist support and materials on the topic of participation. What exactly does this offer look like?

With its free range of further training courses, specialist support and educational materials, the Kompetenzlabo is aimed at institutions, municipalities and specialists from the (non-)formal sector.
In our training courses, specialists from the non-formal education sector can test and discover participatory methods to shape their professional practice diversely.
As part of specialist support, the Kompetenzlabo supports you in the participatory design of your projects with children. The scope and form of support are defined in a joint introductory meeting. The duration of specialist support is individually adapted to the needs of the children and the facility and can therefore vary greatly over time.
We are continuously developing materials on the topic of child participation in the competence lab.
Please contact the Kompetenzlabo at: kompetenzlabo@plomm.lu.

What topics are there projects on?

All of the Kompetenzlabo’s projects deal with the topic of children’s participation and its implementation in various areas. In this way, the participation of children in everyday decisions and the implementation of democratic processes can be addressed during a project.

How can I participate (with my institution) in the projects?

To stay up to date on our projects, we recommend subscribing to our newsletter and following us on our social media channels.
